Who this is for

These steps are carried out by the RealPage system administrator at the company that licenses the system — often an IT or systems lead, who may not use Revolution RE at all. Send them this page.

RealPage installations have two parts: operational data from OneSite, and financials from Financial Suite.

Part 1 — Create a user for Revolution RE

An administrator at the licensee creates a user with SDE Manager credentials.

  1. Create the user with email support.[yourcompany]@revolutionre.com, first name Revolution RE, last name RE.
  2. Select the properties to include.
  3. Assign the role SDE Manager.
  4. Under Edit user → Product access → Property management → OneSite → Roles, confirm the role can Access RealPage Central and Login directly to OneSite.
If the role is missing rights

The SDE Manager role should carry 23 core functions. If yours doesn't: clone the role, add the Create Report Groups – Central and Access RealPage Central rights, save it, and assign the new role to the Revolution RE user.

Part 2 — Create a Home Office Group

  1. Log out, then log in as the new Revolution RE user.
  2. Open OneSite, switching back to the original view if needed.
  3. Open Central Reporting (or the menu → Central and Scheduled Events), then Reports.
  4. Scroll to Home Office Groups and select New group. If you can't, recheck the rights in Part 1.
  5. Select all sites, or the ones to include, and Continue.
  6. Name the group Revolution RE. Set Date basis to System date and leave File to document management blank.
  7. Set Run on to a specific date at 8:00 PM, starting today, recurring every 1 day, ending 01/01/2099.
  8. Select Save.

Part 3 — Send us the connection details

Share these with Revolution RE support:

  • RealPage server URL, such as companyname.onesite.realpage.com
  • The user's sign-on name and password
  • Property Management Company (PMC) ID
  • A sample Site ID
  • The group name, if it isn't Revolution RE

Optional — Schedule reports instead

If you prefer scheduled reports, add each of these to the Revolution RE group in Unified Platform → Reports → Manage reports: find the report under All reports, select More → Add to group, pick any site, set the group to Revolution RE and the format to XML.

Part 4 — Financials from Financial Suite

Choose one:

  • Give access — grant the Revolution RE user Administrator credentials in Financial Suite, and we'll schedule the reports. Edit rights are needed only to tick the box that sends individual property reports; we won't change your reports.
  • Schedule them yourself — follow the steps below.

Schedule the trailing 12-month statement and budget

  1. In Financial Suite, select Applications → Reports → Financial reports.
  2. Select the report with 12 Month, detailed and financial in its name. Names vary between companies. If you can't find it, use RealPage's system templates in the financial reports library: Twelve Month Trailing Income Statement, Budget and Balance Sheet.
  3. If the template is shared or you're scheduling more than one property, duplicate it first. You'll need edit rights — you have them if there's an Edit button beside the report.
  4. Select View to open the Financial Report Writer, then the Filters tab.
  5. Tick Run as individual reports for both Department and Location.
  6. Back on Financial reports, select Schedule. Leave the as-of date blank; start today; end Never; recur daily, every 1 day.
  7. Deliver by email, in Excel, to [yourcompany].financials@inbox.revolutionre.com.
