An installation connects a property management system to Revolution RE once. After that, data arrives nightly with no further work. How the connection is made depends on the system.
Who does the installation
A property's data lives in the PMS account of whoever licenses the system: an owner, their management company, or a technology partner. Every installation starts with an introduction to that licensee's PMS system administrator, who completes the steps on the guide for their system.
Do you need a new installation?
Often not. If your management company's system is already connected to Revolution RE, adding a property is a request to them to share it with your account, not a new installation. A new installation is only needed when the licensee has never connected their system before.
How each system connects
| System | How it connects | Financials |
|---|---|---|
| Yardi | Stored procedures installed from a package, sending nightly by FTP | A scheduled report package from Financial Analytics |
| Entrata | API access granted to Revolution RE as a vendor | Through the Reports API, or scheduled statements |
| ResMan | An API integration enabled through a ResMan support case | A scheduled Twelve Month Profit and Loss and budget |
| RealPage | A dedicated user and a Home Office report group in OneSite | Financial Suite access, or scheduled statements |
| AppFolio | Scheduled financial reports | A trailing 12-month statement, budget and balance sheet per property |
Where scheduled reports go
Most installations include scheduling some reports to Revolution RE by email. There are two inboxes:
| Inbox | Receives |
|---|---|
[yourcompany].financials@inbox.revolutionre.com | Income statements, budgets and balance sheets. These build and maintain your account tree. |
[yourcompany]@inbox.revolutionre.com | Operational reports such as rent roll and box score, used to validate your data. |
The inbox addresses below use [yourcompany] as a placeholder. Your setup email from Revolution RE gives your exact addresses.
After installation
Once data is flowing, an Administrator on your team sets up your organization. See Getting started and Admin setup.
