Embedding works in two directions, and the two are easy to confuse:
| Direction | Use it to | |
|---|---|---|
| Embed link | Revolution RE → somewhere else | Put a live dashboard or report inside a website, portal or spreadsheet |
| iFrame card | Somewhere else → Revolution RE | Show another web page inside one of your dashboards — see Adding cards |
An embed link opens without anyone logging in. Whoever has the link can see the data it shows, so share it only where it belongs, and restrict it to specific properties when you can.
Embedding a dashboard
Create a dashboard embed link
- Open the dashboard from the homepage.
- Select Embed dashboard (
</>). - Select Create a new link.
- Copy the link and paste it where the dashboard should appear.
Embedding a report
Create a report embed link
- Open the report from Reports.
- Select Embed report (
</>) at the top right. - Choose Embedded CSV, then the sheet to embed.
- Select Create a new link and copy it.
Restricting an embed to certain properties
A single embed link can show different properties to different audiences.
- Create the embed link from a dashboard or report showing all properties.
- Select Restrict properties — the door icon shows as closed.
- Copy the link and add
?properties=followed by the property codes, separated by commas:?properties=res71221,res74451.
Property codes are in the Code column of the property table.
Live data in Google Sheets or Excel
A report's Embedded CSV link can feed a spreadsheet that refreshes with live data.
Build a filterable sheet
- Copy the report's Embedded CSV link and paste it into the first cell of your spreadsheet template.
- In Reports, open the Library report Property List with IDs, create its Embedded CSV link, and paste it into the template's Property List URL cell.
- Check the Property List Property ID tab has filled in — it drives the lookup.
- The All tab pulls the full report data.
- Pick a property from the drop-down in cell A3. A VLOOKUP against the property list filters the values to that property.
